Time management
Most business owners complain they do not have enough time in the day. Are you trying to do everything? Good time management is a skill that should align both your business and personal goals. Here are some tips on how you can manage your time more effectively.
- Don't start your day late, except if there is an emergency. Late starters are always trying to catch up all day long.
- Make a list of both your personal and business goals. Prioritize your top goals and review this list on a weekly basis.
- Divide up your work. Sometimes, it is easier to take a large job, divide it in smaller tasks and accomplish them.
- If you have a large project, establish a timeline and outline any steps you need to follow, including dates and milestones, to make your project a reality.
- Don't put off tasks that you don't like. Get rid of those annoying tasks first and get them out of the way.
- Delegate any time-consuming tasks to your staff.
- Keep your paperwork under control by setting aside a few minutes each day, so it doesn't become a large and tedious task at the end of the month.
- Take fifteen minutes at the end of each day to plan for the next. This will ensure you know exactly what you wish to accomplish at the start of each day.
- Take some time off for yourself and you will be more productive in the long run.
