Are you a woman thinking about starting you own business? Wondering if you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur? Come join Canada Business-Nova Scotia at 1575 Brunswick Street, in our Halifax boardroom, on Wednesday, August 18th from 12:00 to 13:00, as the Centre for Women in Business presents its first ever webinar: Exploring your Entrepreneurial Potential.

The Centre for Women in Business helps women-owned businesses succeed in Nova Scotia by offering advice, business information, management skills training and networking opportunities.

This webinar is a great opportunity to discuss your ideas with experts. Facilitator Jennifer Simpson will talk about:

  • The meaning of entrepreneurship
  • How to run a successful business
  • The costs of starting a business and sources of financing
  • Resources available for market and start-up research

Jennifer will also help you evaluate your aptitude for small business ownership.

Following the session, feel free to stay and chat with our friendly bilingual Business Information Officers or browse through the business resource library. We have all kinds of business answers for you.

Space is limited, so please contact Canada Business-Nova Scotia by telephone at 1-888-576-4444 or by e-mail at info.cb.ns@acoa-apeca.gc.ca if you'd like to attend.

Why can’t I find funding groups for women in business in Toronto?

If you have access to any, would you kindly send them to me.

Best Regards

I want to start small business but i can’t able to get finance what can i do?

By Yodit on August 31, 2010

Hello Yodit,

There are a number of resources you can look into for financing and help.

Our Grants and Finances section is an excellent place to search out resources. Within this section, you can view or search for financing programs offered by governments by selecting parameters such as your industry, your location, your demographic group and/or the reason you are looking for financing. The section also links to sources of community-based and private sector financing.

If you are still having difficulty finding business financing that is right for you, feel free to contact the Canada Business office in your region for further assistance.

Good luck starting your business!
