Guest Advisor Program - Saskatchewan

Have you ever wondered what professionals in a specific field could do to help your business succeed?

The Canada-Saskatchewan Business Service Centre's Guest Advisor Program provides you with the opportunity to speak with lawyers, accountants, and business consultants who volunteer their time to discuss your business concerns. The program offers you:

• a confidential, one-on-one consultation over the phone or in person
• a service provided with no obligation, free of charge
  • NOTE: You can get a free 30-minute on-site consultation with the guest advisor. As a client of the Canada Saskatchewan Business Service Centre, you need to be aware, before agreeing to additional off-site services from a guest advisor, that fees may apply. This is beyond the mandate of the Guest Advisor Program.
• an introduction to a variety of business services available to you within the community.
• insight into how a professional can assist in the development of your business
• an opportunity to discuss your business situation with a professional in a neutral location.

Typical discussion topics

• Accounting Advisor
  tax issues, GST, eligible expenses, business plans, payroll, leasing, business structure issues, bookkeeping, accounting software, employer/employee responsibilities, administrative processes, records management
• Business Consultant Advisor
  Marketing: Growing a new or existing business, developing customers & repeat business. Management: Finance, reporting, Strategic & Tactical Planning, implementation. Human resources: systems, procedures, interviewing, anticipating demand, evaluations, labor issues.
• Legal Advisor
  contracts, liability, leases, dispute resolution, business structure, shareholder/partnership agreements, intellectual property, buying/selling a business, licensing agreements, disclaimers, taxation, debt collection.

Scheduling
Guest Advisors are available at our Saskatoon office at the following times:

Times:
12:00pm to 4:00pm (except Lawyer - 8:30am - 12:30pm). Each appointment is a minimum of 20 minutes long.

Days:
First Wednesday afternoon of each month - Accountant Second Wednesday afternoon of each month - Business Consultant Third Wednesday morning of the month - Lawyer

Months:
All except June, July, August
