Canada Business Privacy Statement

Canada Business is committed to ensuring the protection of your privacy through responsible personal information practices. This page summarizes the privacy practices of Canada Business.

The Canada Business website does not automatically gather any specific personal information from you, such as your name, phone number or e-mail address. We would only obtain this type of information if you supply it by sending us an e-mail, through an on-line feedback form or verbally by telephone.

Canada Business employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. This software receives and records the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer that has contacted our website, the date and time of the visit and the pages visited. We make no attempt to link these addresses with the identity of individuals visiting our site unless an attempt to damage the site has been detected.

After the period of two years, the personal information will be destroyed.

Google Analytics

Industry Canada uses Google Analytics, a Web analytics service provided by Google Inc., to help measure traffic patterns to, from, and within our public websites. This analytics measurement tool uses “session“ and “persistent“ cookies to collect standard Internet log information and to track visitor behaviour information in an anonymous form. Persistent cookies are stored on your computer and expire two years after your last visit to our website. The information generated by the cookies about your use of the website (including the first nine digits of your IP address) is transmitted to Google.
