On-the-Job Training Program
If you hire a qualified, previously-injured employee, the Workers' Compensation Board of Nova Scotia will pay their wages and benefits for 24 weeks.
You will need to:
- Provide one-on-one, on-the-job skills training and experience as outlined in the person's vocational rehabilitation plan
- Submit monthly progress reports
You are not obligated to offer the employee future employment, or to cover training costs. In some cases, the program may be extended beyond 24 weeks.
