Nunavut Prospector's Program

If you are a qualified prospector in Nunavut, you can apply for a contribution of up to $8,000 per year for expenses like supplies, mineral assay costs and wages for your assistant.

To qualify, you need to:

  • Live in Nunavut
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a valid Prospector's Licence (from the federal government)
  • Have a working knowledge of prospecting and claim staking, either by experience or training

If you don't have experience or training, you need to have finished an Introductory Prospecting Course in Nunavut.

Send your application to the Resident Geologist in Cambridge Bay, or to the Arviat or Iqaluit offices.
