Corporations Canada: Dissolving a Corporation

There are a few steps you must follow for the voluntary dissolution (legal termination) of your corporation. The procedure varies slightly depending on the situation. Voluntary dissolution can happen:

  • before commencing business;
  • where there is no property;
  • where property and liabilities have been disposed of; or
  • after proposing liquidation and dissolution of the corporation by the directors or shareholders.
