Registry of Joint Stock Companies - (Nova Scotia)

Government of Nova Scotia - Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations

Applies to: Nova Scotia

To do business in Nova Scotia, you may need to register or incorporate your business with the Registry of Joint Stock Companies.

Exceptions are:

corporations or partnerships/businesses registered in New Brunswick
individuals or partners who use their own names, without a descriptive element or attachment, such as "and Associates", to conduct business
a partnership whose sole purpose is farming or fishing

Registration fees vary depending on the type of business being registered. You can also research existing corporations and partnerships through the Registry's public database.
