Patent Prosecution Highway Pilot Program

Industry Canada - Canadian Intellectual Property Office

Applies to: All of Canada

If your application for a patent has been found acceptable by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) and you wish to also apply for a patent in the U.S., Denmark, Japan, or Korea, you can request participation in the Patent Prosecution Highway Pilot Program. This pilot project will accelerate the examination of your request by the United States Patent and Trademark Office or its equivalent in Denmark, Japan or Korea. CIPO will process your request free of charge.

The U.S. program is scheduled to end in January 2011, the others in September 2011.
