ecoAgriculture Biofuels Capital Initiative

Government of Canada - Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada

Applies to: All of Canada

If you are a Canadian agricultural producer, you could receive up to $25 million to build or expand a biofuel factory using agricultural materials to make fuel for transportation.

To qualify, you need to:

Build the facility in Canada
Supply at least 5% of the costs of the project
Keep the factory for at least two years after construction is done and biofuel is being produced
Use plant material, like corn, to make fuel like ethanol or biodiesel
Get an environmental assessment
Produce at least three to five million litres of fuel per year

You have to repay this money. The program ends on September 30, 2012.
