Canadian Agricultural Loans Act Program

Applies to: All of Canada

If you are a Canadian farmer, you could receive up to $500,000 to buy land and to build or improve farm buildings, or up to $350,000 for other supplies for your farm. You need to:

  • grow grains or flowers, plants, vegetables or fruit
  • raise farm animals, animals that produce fur, such as mink or other animals like emu
  • produce eggs, milk, honey, maple syrup, tobacco, fibre, wood from your woodlot, or crops like hay to feed farm animals
  • provide a business plan, if you are a new farmer
  • pay a registration fee

To apply, please contact your bank, credit union or other lending institution.

You must repay this loan.
