Fishing Vessel Loan Program

Government of Nova Scotia - Nova Scotia Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture

Applies to: Nova Scotia

If you are a Canadian citizen or a registered Nova Scotia business in good standing, you can apply for a secured loan to:

Buy or build a fishing vessel
Buy and install engines, equipment and/or electronics for your vessel
Make technical modifications to your vessel

You need a Fishing Master Class IV certificate, or five years' experience as captain to apply. You will also need to hold the necessary Department of Fisheries and Oceans licence(s).
